I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Judith's sudden passing earlier this week. I have been thinking of her daily. Judith put so much of herself and her energy into her students, her teaching and the program at Caldwell. I always enjoyed her company and valued her as a friend and a colleague both in teaching and as an artist. I will miss her greatly and send my sincere condolences to her family.

I had the great fortune of having Judith as a teacher during my time at Caldwell. She was an amazing talent and dedicated teacher. She opened up my eyes to the world of painting in a whole new way. I am so sad to hear the news of her passing. I send all her loved ones good wishes, prayers, and lots of love. Sincerely, and With Love, Nicole Cimorelli, Class of 2002

I'm shocked and deeply saddened that Judith Croce passed away. I've known her for over twenty years and whenever we were together I felt enveloped by her tremendous warmth, wit, and emotional and artistic intelligence. We had countless conversations about painting and teaching while parenting daughters and she was someone I was always delighted to while away an evening with.
I'm really going to miss her. All my condolences to her family whom she really treasured.

I am so sad to hear the news. Judith was a great person who loved her family fiercely. The world is a little darker today without her it in.

Judith was not just a colleague, but a confidant. Our schedules were such that we often taught on the same evenings, allowing for post-class conversations in her office. Topics mostly centered around current events, a student’s progress or family matters. Judith adored her grandson Henry, and took special pleasure (like any proud grandparent) in relating any of his latest milestones—illustrated with photos if available.

As a committed teacher, Judith helped students cultivate their artistic voice in the years leading toward their senior thesis. Though her passing will leave a great void at the university, I am confident that her warmth and kindness, will be remembered forever. Her artistic spirit will live on through the legions of students she taught during her tenure at Caldwell University.

Because Judith and I shared a "geeky" love for all matters related to color theory, she will always be in my thoughts whenever I see a swatch of Color-aid paper or a passing rainbow.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Judith was a wonderful human being. She will truly be missed by all.
